Stopping Water Getting In
Most of the damage we are called to repair on the Côte d’Azur started as a small amount of water in the wrong place. A balcony that drains slowly, a terrace with a failed membrane, a basement wall that was never properly tanked. Apex Azur deals with the cause rather than the stain on the ceiling below.
What We Do
- Waterproof roofing and terrace membranes — including premium liquid systems such as Kemperol, applied seamlessly over a prepared substrate.
- Tanking and below-ground waterproofing — for basements, garages, retaining walls and pool plant rooms.
- Leak investigation and repair — finding where the water is actually entering before anything is priced.
- Detailing — the drains, upstands, thresholds and junctions where almost every failure begins.
Preparation Is the Job
Waterproofing fails when it is applied over something it cannot bond to. On a typical balcony or staircase we strip back all existing tiles, adhesive and grout to expose a solid substrate, make good any damage, and only then apply the membrane. Once it has cured and been checked, the new tiled or decked finish goes on top. Skipping the strip-out is cheaper on the quotation and considerably more expensive two winters later.
Finding the Leak First
Water travels. The point where it appears inside is frequently metres from where it entered, which is why we investigate rather than guess. We will tell you honestly if a localised repair will do the job — we would rather quote a small repair that works than a large one that was not needed.
